Still struggle to hear in noise?
Even with the best hearing aids, the background noise of social situations can provide an extreme listening experience. But there is an answer!
Background noise is a conversation killer – but there is a solution!
We know what the problem is, and now we know what the solution is. Read on to find out how you can have a free coffee and cake, and a free trial of this life-changing technology, courtesy of Peter Byrom Audiology; put Wednesday 22nd of February in your diary.
Coffee and Cake will be provided by Caffè d’Amour which is conveniently placed next to our Dore clinic. Caffè d’Amour will also be providing us with a real-world listening environment (background noise) in which to trial the new technology. The coffee and the cake are our gift to you.
The problem with even the best hearing aids is that they rely on microphones. Microphones are limited by the distance to the sound source, therefore hearing aids are limited by distance to the sound source. Background noise compounds the problem with hearing aids needing to be close to the person speaking to deal with background noise. Hearing aid technology and the use of directional microphones help but having a conversation in a busy café can be very frustrating
The solution is to have a remote microphone, a tiny device that sits on the table or on the lapel of the speaker. These devices connect wirelessly to hearing aids using FM technology which means that the problem of distance is overcome.
To enjoy your free coffee, cake, and remote microphone trial at Caffè d’Amour you need to have a pair of Phonak Audeo Marvel, Paradise, or Lumity hearing aids. To join us, simply
